There has been alot happening preseason around the club. We will not fit it all in one newsletter but here's some quick highlights.
Rhan Signs again Great to hear former Brisbane Lion and Hawthorn AFL player Rhan Hooper has recently signed on for is second season with the Springwood Pumas Seniors. Senior numbers are looking great & the U18s attendance has been exceptional. Bring on season 2014! 
Record Junior/Youth Numbers Proving Springwood AFC is the place to be, we are happy to announce the Pumas are on record pace yet again when it comes to team numbers. Many teams are full but there are still some limited spots left in others. If you know of any friends that are interested in playing for the Pumas in 2014, to avoid disappointment please contact:
springwoodjuniors@aflbj.com asap. Cant wait to see all the future Puma stars back training on the oval. All juniors return in the next 2 weeks. If you have not heard from your Coach or Manager please contact them. Their contact details can be found on our website under the "About" tab.

Kitchen Work Yes finally the Pumas are getting a new kitchen. The old has been demolished & the new is nearly complete. Cant wait to see the finished product. Canteen duty should be alot easier this year.
Also a big thankyou to Graham, Ron & the U16 Dads who helped fix the ceiling & roof in the club house after the major storm a few months back.
Another big thanks to Pattons Big Gun Meats who donated all the meat for the sign on day BBQs.
All they wanted in return was a gold coin donation for "Kids with Cancer Foundation". Over $200 was raised & donated.
Fun Night out whilst Fundraising for the club We are excited to announce that we are hosting our first Adults only social event for 2014! In previous years we have hosted the Weetbix Tryathalon, but due to government cut backs Weetbix are unable to run their event in Logan this year. So as a result we will be missing out on a valuable amount of funds!
So..... On Saturday the 29th of March we will be having a "MAD HATTERS" fundraising Party! There will be fun games, raffles and prizes to be won!
Tickets will be sold prior to the night for $25... this includes a meal,or
$35 on the night!
In order to make this a successful night we are asking for prize
donations, however big or small for raffles, prizes and auctions!

Many junior teams photos from the 1970's on-wards are on display. From the archives pictured below is 7 year old Future Australian Rugby League captain
Darren Lockyer who played AFL with Springwood in the 80s. He may have been Captain of Australia but more importantly he won the Springwood U8 B& F in 1985. Click on him & it will take you to the full archive photo & you can see who his team mates were. Some went on to future Puma Premierships

We have also updated the Puma Premiership & League B&F photo displays in the foyer of the club house. If you have an old Springwood AFC Team/playing or social photo you would like add/share send it to
psiimpson147@gmail.com. We are especially after any team photos between 2005 to 2011 .If we have missed any high achievers also please let us know.
There is also plans underway for a Senior "Hall Of Fame" social function....more info on this soon! Logan Diggers help out A big thank you to Logan Diggers who recently supplied a grant that will be used to help paint/reco/clean up our change rooms & showers. Fantastic to see the Diggers support not just us, but many other community clubs with much needed funding. Golf & Youth Footy is Back this Sunday There are 3 Youth Practice matches at Lowe Oval (Home) this Sunday 02-03-14.
U12 vs Calamvale 9am
U16 intraclub...10.30am
U14 vs Morningside 12.30pm
Come cheer the boys on! Or if you feel in a golfing mood there is also a
Puma Social Golf day @ Gainsborough Greens on this Sunday. All welcome!
