The Northern Blues Amateurs are proud to announce the signing of Essendon and AFL Hall of Fame ruckman Simon Madden to their 2014 coaching panel.
Madden has never veered far away from football post AFL career, recently undertaking a specialist role at Essendon and even coaching VAFA Premier side St. Bernard’s in 2005.
“Getting Simon Madden to join our coaching panel is a real coup for the club,” Football Operations Manager Ian Parke said.
“His wealth of experience at an elite level will be fantastic resource for our team to tap into.”
The former Bomber will work with the Northern Blues Amateurs ruck group in numerous training sessions throughout the season.
Now the director for ‘Winning’, – an organisation dedicated to helping businesses improve their employees – Parke said Madden’s winning philosophy is one that should permeate throughout the entire playing group.
“Simon’s appointment is further evidence that our club is creating an exciting, winning culture following the success of last year,” Parke said.
Madden was named as ruckman in Essendon’s team of the century after two premierships, a Norm Smith medal and four best and fairests spanning across his 378 game career.
