Coburg Football Club are delighted to announce a raft of signings ahead of the 2014 season, including 2013 Jim Sullivan Best and Fairest Winner Daniel Venditti, Development Best and Fairest winner Liam Brandt, and experienced trio Ozgur Uysal, Nick Robortella and Nathan Thomas
Daniel Venditti (First Picture) - The 27 year old from Perth had a stellar 2014, comfortably winning the Jim Sullivan Best and Fairest. The classy midfielder will be one of the most experienced players on the Lions' list, and is a great role model for the younger players
Nathan Thomas - Into his fourth year at the club, we're looking forward to seeing what Thommo can achieve after an injury interrupted 2013. An insider midfielder capable of tearing the game apart, as proven by a best on ground display against Box Hill late last year. Thommo has an elite kick and a strong presence, and is looking very fit ahead of the 2014 season.
Ozgur Uysal - One of the most talented individuals at the club, Ozzy emerged as one of the guns of the competition in late 2013. After being on the edge of the senior side, a 40 possession, 20 clearance game in development earned him an extended run in the seniors, and from then on was one of Coburg's best all year. Wrapped the season up with an impressive performance in the Young Guns Game
Liam Brandt (2nd Image) - 'Kingy' had a very strong year in development in 2013, also managing 5 senior games and taking out the Development Best and Fairest. A strong player through the middle, Kingy is looking to take his game to the next level in 2014.
Nick Robortella (4th Image) - Former Cannons player Robba had a breakout season in 2013, playing 8 senior games, and improving out of sight. A tough, no-nonsense half back who makes good decisions, Robba will be one of the most valuable players coming out of defence for the Burgers.
Fabian Brancatisano - The pacy winger from Pascoe Vale and Essendon VFL is also a product of the Western Jets, and will add pace and enthusiasm to the side. Was one of the best on ground against Coburg last year for Essendon.
Ruairi Cleary (3rd Image) - Son of Club Legend, Premiership Coach and Captain, and Coach of the Team of the Century Phil Cleary returning for his second season at the club. A strong bodied forward who will look to make big strides this season.
Adrian Fancellu (5th Image) - Second Year Ruckman/Forward who moved across from Port Melbourne. Started slowly last season but kicked four goals against his old side in Round 7 before dislocating his shoulder and missing the remainder of the season. We're looking forward to Adrian playing a big role this season
Corey Oliver - A small midfielder from Sale City, Corey is a ferocious competitor, never taking a backward step. A smooth mover through the midfield, Corey has a never give up attitude that all coaches at the club admire. Hasn't missed a session despite the extreme travel distance, and has many fans at the club already for this.
Matt Taylor - Matt's a young Ruckman/Forward from Olinda who has impressed with his workrate at training. One of the most committed on the track, we're delighted to be able to give Matt the opportunity to play at the next level.
Tom Ellard - A half back flanker from Pascoe Vale, Tom's movement and agility sets him apart from the pack. An agile player with good closing speed and a good understanding of the game.
Jonathan Proud - Big Johnny comes to us from Mount Gravatt in the NEAFL, where he has played for the past few seasons. The brother of former AFL player Albert Proud, Johnny is a strong unit who is uncompromising in his attack on the footy. Will add strength to our forward and midfield group.
Blake Henderson - Blake's a 23 year old from Romsey who plays as a Centre Half Back, but can go forward as well. A fierce competitor who's attack on the ball can never be questioned.
Morgan Evans - Morgan's a 20 year old utility capable of playing both forward and back. He has great hands and is one of the fastest learners in the side, picking up on game plans and opposition movement quickly, we're excited to have Morgan on board for 2014.
Steve Golding - A strong midfielder from Hadfield, 'Goldy' is one of the hardest workers in the team. Has good skills both by hand and foot, and is always looking for ways to improve. We're looking forward to seeing what Goldy can achieve in 2014.
Jai Robinson (6th Image) - Coming into his third year on the list, the lively forward is capable of almost anything, proven by his goal of the season last year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fShrYUNxIVM
