The Board of the Bayside Bombers has nominated the 15th January as the official start to preseason training. To kick off their 2014 campaign Bombers have signed gun 2013 Queensland Masters AFL Captain Coach, Gavin "Torso" Kearney. The Board hopes to greatly improve on last seasons win/loss ratio.
Over the off season most players have stuck to the high fat and alcohol diet as they have done in past years. Coach Kearney commented on his first plan of attack " I'd like to start the season with a weight-in...the type you see at a fishing comp. But unfortunatly hooking players up a fish scale by their gills would probably be classed a grevious bodily harm, so i'll have to make the work hard on the paddock. Although it would probably kerb their eating habits until the wound heals up!
On a brighter note most players are keen to get back onto the field and 2014 will see the return of a number of key Bombers from the large injury list from last season. Training will start on the bottom oval at 6pm this Wednesday night. Please bring runners, boots and a water bottle.
