Season 2014 kicked off with a bang at Fisherman's Rd last night with more than 40 players turning up to dust off the cob webs and begin our assault on the 2014 season.
Senior coach Brett Maloney welcomed the group and gave a quick rundown of the five sessions planned before Xmas.
He introduced returning reserves/development squad coach Burgs Elkington and announced to the group that club captain Michael Roberts would have more of hands-on role as playing assistant coach.
The boys had a chance to get a bit of leather on boot before going into a 2km time trial to guage where they were fitness wise and use to measure improvement in a couple of months time. They were some very quick results and there were some that were not so quick but it's early days in the campaign with the aim of turning up to each session and slowly improve that fitness base.
Season 2014 promises to be an exciting one at Roo land however it's important to begin laying a foundation from December.
As always, the first session is always the hardest, we look forward to seeing everyone (and a few more) again on Tuesday.
Training will resume each Tuesday and Thursday at Fisherman's Rd from 5.30pm.
Any players wishing to pull on a Roos jumping in 2014 should come down or give senior coach Brett Maloney a call on 0421 641 264.
