The Avoca Football Netball Club’s new Committee and coaching staff are set to get ‘unleashed’ for season 2014.
With a solid new structure and a Committee of dedicated volunteers, the AFNC is looking forward to a very exciting year ahead both on and off the field.
The new Committee now includes fourteen positions, with eleven currently filled to date. Club President Bob Farnsworth heads up the team and believes that the enthusiasm from the team around him is fantastic.
“We spent much of last season working really hard to put new measures in place to secure the future of the Club including writing a strategic plan and a comprehensive policies and procedures manual.”
“These documents have generated a great deal of interest from members and as a result we have a dynamic new committee that are set to have a real impact on how the Club is run. It’s a really exciting time.” Bob added.
“We’ve joined VicHealth’s Healthy Sporting Environments program and we have recently been awarded bronze accreditation in the AFL’s Quality Club’s program so people can really see how committed we are to improving the way the Club runs.”
The Club is also pleased to make coaching announcements for season 2014 with Adrian Pilgrim leading the senior football team with assistant coaches Lachlan Edwards and Murray Bond. Lucy Walkley has also been appointed senior netball coach, along with Sarah Neil coaching 17 and Under and Nicole Wardlaw coaching 15 and Under and 13 Under. Junior Football coaches will be appointed in the coming weeks.
“We are thrilled to have Adrian back for his third season with the Club and along with Lucy heading up the senior netballers, it’s going to be an exciting year.” Bob said.

Independent Member – Michael Rentsch
There are three positions yet to be filled including Canteen Manager, Facilities Manager and Football Operations Manager. If anyone is interested in filling these vacant positions they are encouraged to contact Secretary Carla Cicchini on 0421 556 335.
