The AGM was held on Tuesday the 26th of November at the East Malvern RSL.
In his Presidents address Richard Williams acknowledged the efforts of the committee, the coaches (particularly outgoing senior coach Greg McLoughlin and his team) and the many others who have assisted over the past season.
Four members of the committee did not seek re-election - Simon Humphrey, Peter Waldron, Leyla Hogan and Marty Kelliher. However in good news for the club all will remain on in some capacity. Simon will take on the club registrar role and manage registrations and clearances, communications and assist the incoming secretary. Marty's 30 year involvement with the club continues as coach of the Under 19 Golds team. Leyla will remain involved with meals and the canteen and Peter is heading up a jobs network that is working with our recruiting sub committee.
Outgoing secretary Simon Humphrey advised the meeting that due to a changing work situation he has reluctantly resigned as secretary. He encouraged those present to assist Richard in recruiting a suitable person into the role, which due to a committee restructure will be far less onerous than in the past.
Richard Williams remains as President while Brian Waldron steps up as Vice President to replace Marty Kelliher. Roy Meiklejohn stays on a treasurer.
Simon Fieldsend, John Bolt and Bro Jack Kidd were all re-elected. Long time club stalwart Wayne McDonell joins the committee with Jennie Loughnan. Everyone knows Wayne’s passion and commitment to this club and securing his services is a great result. Jennie holds a senior position in football operations with AFL Victoria and has been a long time supporter of our club. Her knowledge and expertise will be a huge asset. Richard formally introduced and welcomed Wayne and Jennie and thanked them for coming on board.
At the end of the meeting new senior coach Paul Satterley addressed the group. Paul was extremely impressive and it was evident to all present that the club is truly fortunate to have secured his services.
With a number of new and returning players and a fanstatic coaching group we look forward to 2014 season with great optimism. We now ask the wider De La Salle community to get behind the club and show their support.
A web-based version of the AGM booklet will be provided shortly.
