New dawn for Lions
Monday, October 07, 2013
Following a historic annual general meeting, South Morang’s senior and junior netball clubs merged last week and will now be named the South Morang Football and Netball Club.
As part of the structure change, the club will have a chairman who will oversee the club’s operations. The club will also have a senior and junior president and a single general committee.
David Craig was named South Morang’s inaugural chairman, with Brendan Macdonald the club’s senior president and Chris Kotsopoulos the junior president.
South Morang has also named its senior coaching panel for the 2014 season, as it prepares for its move back into Division 3.
Craig Lambert has been appointed senior coach, with Mark Muscat his senior assistant and football manager. Gary Moran will again coach the club’s reserves with Jim Chetcuti as his asssistant.
Wayne Hoare will take on the under 19's and Craig Shillinglaw will coach our first open age womens side.
Lambert coached Essendon District Football League club Craigieburn this season and returns to the Lions where he coached the under-17s in 2012.
