In a game where momentum played a significant role, the senior squad solidified its status as a genuine premiership contender by knocking off West Brunswick in a thriller.
The result yet again proved many doubters wrong, as the boys came away as 17 point victors, booking their place in the Division 4 Grand Final.
The win not only keeps the season alive for the senior squad but earns them a promotion into Division 3 for season 2014.
Unfortunately, the under 19s were defeated by a rampant Whitefriars side at Central Reserve on Sunday. Whilst Whitefriars were dominant for most of the day, the boys will rue their missed chances after an inaccurate day in front of goal, kicking 2.14.
Whilst the result was not ideal, the under 19’s still have plenty to take from the season, claiming a minor premiership and several individual honours in the process.
This week the seniors will face Division 4 powerhouse Eely Park in the Grand Final, which will be held at Ted Ajani Reserve on Saturday at 2:15pm. The side’s two prior meetings this season are split one game apiece.
