SENIORS – Sponsored by the Cushion Lounge
Strong finals contenders are often built around a solid defense. With Marra and T-Mac holding the main posts and with the likes of Dawsey, Blacky, Steeter, Smithy and Kenton as support, we have the capability to suffocate teams for long periods. Young Tim Roberts stocks continue to rise and whilst his opponent Dow Jones was average, his right indexed Footsie appears to be on target to yield some good results, so don’t trade him now. Another debutant from the 19’s, Connor Wilson gave a good account of himself finishing with 2 goals and also won the Ladies Day ‘Justin Beiber’ look-alike contest. Another player who is managing his form beautifully at the business end of the season is young Carmody who just has that touch of class… nudge nudge, wink wink

This game against a fierce rival was a real ‘Lockdown at the Pound’ affair, with nothing much separating the sides for most of the day until we finally got on top of Clayton late in the final term. Jack Kreymborg was rock solid and clean as always in a ‘best on’ display. Our big man division in Macca, the Clock and Marra were fiercely competitive which gave our running brigade led by Bobby Carracher, Jibba and Wheels great first use of the footy. Was it a coaching masterstroke to throw a ‘Spanner’ into the works down forward where he wound back the Ben Pian to kick a wonderful opportunistic goal.
Under 19’s V Bentleigh - Sponsored by Total Waste Management
With both sides short on players, this was a 15 man a side shootout. Our use of the footy was the best it has been all year and we ran hard to the open spaces that inevitably opened up. Impressive youngster ‘Hotwheels” Brown showed poise and skill to have 4 goals by half time. Bragger was outstanding with his work rate and around the stoppages and this game was a reflection of what comes from having a great attitude to playing and training. The skipper Beauy Phillips must be the most competitive player in the under 19 ranks and is never beaten in a one on one contest as he turned in another ripping game.

Ladies Day was a great success due mainly to the fantastic efforts of Caitlin and all of the Netball girls who really put a lot of thought and planning into what was a terrific day
