The Nor-West Jets would like to send out a hearty congratulations to former player Aaron 'Snowy' Clayden, who last night was awarded the Granland Medal, for Best & Fairest in the Black Diamond FL 1st Division, held at the Belmont 16ft Sailing Club.
Snowy, who now plays for the Nelson Bay Marlins in the Newcastle/Central Coast based competition, has led the way all year through the midfield for the undefeated Marlins, and polled 3 votes in 4 separate games to hold out 2012 winner, Wade Beard from Maitland.
Snowy first played for the Jets in 2004 with his younger brother Jye, and returned in 2009 when he won the Sydney FL Division 3 McFarlane Medal by a massive 10 votes, where he also won the Div 3 goal kicking and took the Shipley Medal in a strong year. Snowy then headed south to the Riverina FL and won that elusive premiership for the Ganmain Grong Grong Matong Lions.
Clayden's Marlins won their first semi final by a massive 15 goals against 2nd placed Terrigal Avoca last weekend to put them through to the Grand Final, and we wish him, and other past Jets player Luke Bell all the best in their quest for an undefeated flag!
Congrats Snowy!
