SENIORS
The Hills started the game with a quick goal but despite maintaining a majority of the play couldn't make the most of it up forward and Watsonia was not far behind at quarter time. The Saints made their maove in the second quarter and finsihed the half 11 points behind and within striking distance. The Hills backline was terrific when needed in the first half with Will Box, Ben Strongman and Joffa Byron in a best on ground perfromance all playing their role off the half backline, but the Hills seemed to struggle a little at full forward without Ben Finnin. However, as has been the pattern in many games this year The Redbacks stepped things up in the second half and got 3 goals within the first 5 minutes from running play after centre breaks to stamp their authority on the game and make things very difficult for Watsonia. From there The Hills got their running game going and used youngster Anthony Bryce through the middle and Abe Williams who finished with 3 brilliant goals. Brendan O'Connor marked everything across half forward and was the main goalkicker with 5 goals. The other key player was Jason Evans who did tremendously well down back. A grand finalk awaits in 2 weeks with a well earned rest in between.
