SENIORS
The final round match against Reservoir didn't mean a lot in terms of final ladder positions, but it was important as both sides prepared for their finals campaign starting next week. It was an intense and tight match for the first half with goals going to both sides although The Hills should probably have been further ahead but kicked a wasteful 1 goal 8 behinds in the first quarter. The margin was only 2 points at half time which set the scene for a big second half. At times the contest became a bit heated, but as has occured many time this season The Hills kept their cool and stepped up their pressure to edge ahead in the third quarter. Once they got to this position Reseervoir fell away and The Redbacks continued on their march for the remainder of the match. Ben Finnin kicked 5 goals to ensure that he finished the season as the division 3 leading goalkicker and was also named best afield. Presidents son Nathan Grimshaw was terrific down back to stake a claim for a finals spot in the backline next week. Artound the ground Abe Williams, Simon Amore and Tyler Scarce were all tremendoius yet again and Zac Williams put in another strong performance scross half forward. A few more players to come back to the side next week will make selection very difficult for what looks to be a very strong finals player list.
RESERVES
Reservoir had a few of their senior players coming back through the Reserves which meant that they were going to be a tricky opposition. The game proved to be a tight contest early, but The Hills were able to work their way over the top of the Mustangs and head into the finals in good form. Jamie Padget has got better each week and was named best on ground with backmen Brad Sansom and Brett Fitzmaurice doing the job on Ashley Flavel were solid. Matt Layt played well again on the wing with support through the middle from Dave Varano and Ryan Graham was the diominant forward.
