CHRIS GOODLET
100 SENIOR SILVAN GAMES
200 EFL GAMES
260 CAREER GAMES
4 SENIOR PREMIERSHIPS
1 SENIOR B&F
After 8 seasons at Silvan, Goody finally plays he's 100th game for the mighty Cats! Coincidently it's also Chris's 200th EFL game, when he runs out against FTG on Saturday.
After a long career at Lilydale where Chris won the 2002 senior B&F as well as being a member of Lilydale's 98 & 03 senior Flags, Chris arrived at Silvan in 2005. A severe thigh injury limited he's first season at Silvan. But he was able to return for finals to be one of the best players in our losing GF to Monbulk. In 2006 tragedy struck, with Chris rupturing he's ACL and requiring a full knee reconstruction. After an impressive preseason Chris was appointed senior captain for the 2007 season. A season in which our club won the YVMDFL 1st Div Premiership!
Then again in 2008, and after missing more than a few games with a broken cheek bone, Chris captained our club to back to back Premierships. but this time we were undefeated for the entire year!
In 2009 Chris returned to Lilydale to help the club play 1st Division EFL finals for the first time in its history, taking he's Lilydale career games to 160.
2010 saw Goody return to Silvan as Senior Coach. Tragedy struck again in 2010 with Chris doing another ACL, and having he's second knee reconstruction whilst playing for Silvan. But in what has become a trade mark to Goody's mental strength. And a testament to Chris's never give up attitude, he once again bounced back to top form. And to this day is still one of our most competitive, physical & inspiring players!
Goody had been a fantastic servant of our mighty club, and he gives a clear meaning to the term "blood, sweat & tears" as Chris has been through almost every obstacle footy can throw at an individual.
Congratulations Goody on a brilliant career so far, and good luck on Saturday!!
Lets get the win and help Chris celebrate this milestone in style fellas!!
