A mixed day for the Blues last weekend with three big games against fellow power house, Terrgial Avoca, in our final home games for the season. Thirds started things off well with a 12 point win that gives them the chance of a top two finish next week. Ressies couldn’t hold out Terrigal going down by a solitary point with a goal to big Maurie Goolagong after the final siren meaning they will travel to Bateau Bay in the first week of the finals to take on Maitland.
BDC then went down by 16 points in a tight contest when again poor kicking for goal didn’t help the cause. A poor second quarter by our boys was the difference between the sides. Still, we’ll meet again in two weeks and hopefully our boys will be on their game when it counts.
This week sees our teams spread to the three winds! BDC will work on their finals preparations at Lake Mac, Ressies take on Wyong at Wyong – always a difficult trip, and Thirds will play for top spot at Nelson Bay – another difficult away game. Best of luck boys.
