We were able to continue our good form from Hampton against Sth Yarra at the weekend. The focus for the players was to play the brand of football that we wanted against the struggling visitors. Kicking into the breeze in the first term we were able to do just that, piling on 5 goals to two. The five included a couple of specials from the skipper, whilst Billy and Rob Johnston were also looming as dangerous.

We did let Sth Yarra in for a couple of goals, but there were not many blemishes on the backline for the day. The visitors remained competitive for much of the quarter when they had to defend against the wind. Eventually the number of entries into the forward line began to tell and we were able to post 6 majors.

The floodgates opened in the third term as David Ford slammed on two goals in the opening two minutes of the term. It would be the start of a nine goal to nil term in which we completely dominated. Injuries to Brendan and Damo took the edge of what should have been a good time for us. We played the game out well and finished with a big win, picking up a handy 12 percent in the process.

Our backline led by Justin Doust and Lance Baptist were miserly. Damian Stark was a battered pillar of strength in the ruck, Tyson Bramble continued his good form on the wing whilst little brother Dylan impressed in his senior debut. With such a lopsided scoreline, it is reasonable that forwards spent most of day with the ball. David Ford finished with a career best 6, Gav Vassallo 5, whist Billy and Rob collected 4 each.
The win moves us to third on the ladder with a crucial match against Mordialloc this week.
The reserves returned to the winners list with a ten goal win. Ash Beasy was prominent with four goals, Ryan Wachter picked up three in a best on ground performance.New dad Brad Scott looked happy to be out of the house, collecting plenty of the ball, Whilst Chris Chalmers, Matt Pay and the consistent Tim Bacic were among the best.
