2013 NWAFCA Coach of the Month Winners - May
Auskick Category - John Bradley (Macedon Auskick)
"John attends weekly meetings to plan for the Saturday morning session and is very focused on building up his players confidence. All of John's games are very inclusive, as he has one or two children who are not all that keen to get involved some weeks. He encourages more experienced players to share the ball with these players and make them involved in the game. He always ensures that the teams are well balanced and each child plays fairly within the rules".
Tamara Colins - Macedone Auskick Coordinator
Junior Category - Kieran Cardillo (Rupertswood FC)
"Kieran is meticulous with his planning, at Rupo we have a rotation policy that requires all players to rotate through all positions and this requires a thoruogh pre game preparation on a weekly basis. Kieran has developed his players skill level using the basics he has applied at Auskick and combined them with training drills to develop the players and consistently improve their skills from training and matches. Kieran is a positive and popular person around the club, the players all respect him and are happy playing football. This then flows onto the parents which makes it a happy and nice club to be around".
David Kane - Rupertswood FC
Youth Category - John Mangos (Maribyrnong Park FC)
"John has been the architect of the team culture - he has brought together a ragtag team of unaligned boys and turned them into competitive, team oriented men. Not prepared to be known as a soft team he has taught the boys how to walk the line between hard and tough at the ball but ignoring the temptation of being drawn into off ball naked aggression. John Mangos is passionate, patient and so humble, he is teaching these young men not just footy skills but life skills".
Michelle O'Donoghue (Maribyrnong Park FC)
Senior Category - Nat Caruso (Northern Saints FC)
"Nat has brought a breath of fresh air to our group of senior players. His ability to treat all players (personalities) differently is at a good level considering it is his first year of coaching. Nat is very professional in his approach to football and leads from the front both on and off the field. He demands a high skill level and spends time with individuals where it is required".
Peter Lohner (Northern Saints FC)
