Waverley Oval
Waverley Oval is on Bondi Road, Bondi Junction.
To get there, take the Harbour Tunnel and continue along the Eastern Distributor. Take the Bondi exit, going past the SFS and keep going. Turn right at Oxford St and continue straight ahead along Sid Einfeld Drive.
Turn left at Bondi Road, and Waverley Oval is a few blocks away on the right. Parking can be hard to find, and some spots are time limited; so check the signs carefully before parking.
To get there by public transport, catch the train to Circular Quay or Bondi Junction and take the 380 bus.
Trumper Park
Trumper Park is on Glenmore Rd, Paddington.
Take the Harbour Tunnel, and continue through onto the Eastern Distributor. When you get into the Eastern Distributor tunnel, get in the left lane and take the Bondi exit. This will take you next to the SFS.
Just past the SFS, turn left at Oatley Road and travel to the end before turning left at Oxford St. Get in the right lane, and turn right at the Glenmore Road lights, Victoria Barracks will be on your left.
Continue along Glenmore Road, past the old White City tennis courts; and Trumper Park will soon appear in front of you. Parking is a nightmare and the rangers are mean in those parts of town, so check the signs carefully before you pull your car up.
To get there by public transport, catch the train to Edgecliff. Exit the station, turn left onto New South Head Road, then walk left at Glenmore Road.
Picken Oval
Picken Oval is on Hampton St, Croydon Park, next door to the Magpie Sports Club.
To get there, cross the Harbour Bridge. Take the Western Distributor across Anzac Bridge, and keep going straight ahead along City West Link.
Go straight ahead past Parramatta Road. The traffic may be heavy along this stretch of road, so allow plenty of travel time. Go straight ahead at Liverpool Road, and get in the right lane.
Turn right at the lights to Georges River Road. Go straight ahead at the Brighton Ave (Campsie) turnoff, through the shopping centre; and take the third street on the left after the lights, into Hampton St. The street sign on the corner has a sign pointing to Western Suburbs Australian Football Club.
When you see the licensed club, the oval is behind it. There is some parking on site at the ground, but not a lot; if you can’t fit in there, there’s plenty of on-street parking nearby.
To get there by public transport, catch the train to Burwood; then catch the Sydney Buses 492 bus. This runs along Brighton Ave. Get off just before the Cooks River bridge; and the ground is visible from there.
The Weather Forecast
Sunny. Min 8 Max 19.
Patchy fog in the west early in the morning. Sunny day. Light Winds
Match Preview
It's an incredibly tight race for positions within the top five, with all teams level on games and just a few percentage points separating us from four other teams.
The Bats are a team that have caused us headaches in the past, and they knocked us off by a kick at Gore Hill earlier in the season. There's no room for error this time, and the Bombers will need to bounce back hard this time.
Last week we had a win against Illawarra, but we'll need to continue on our winning ways; not just winning but kicking every goal we can and preventing every opposition goal we can. Where we finish on the ladder after the home & away season may depend on it.
Back To Bears Day
Saturday 3rd August is Back to Bears Day. It’s a day when we celebrate the long and proud history of our club and the contributions of the great North Shore people who have gone before us.
