SENIORS
It was cold and wet - just the way footy is meant to be, but the ground at Hurstbridge doesn't get too muddy, so there was an opportunity for sides to use the ball and get goals. The game started at an even pace with the ball scooting to both ends of the ground, but the Hills were able to make the most of their opportunities and finished the quarter 4 goals up. Ben Finnin got on top up forward as did the backline and on-ballers in the second quarter to enable The Hills to extend their lead by 5 goals at half time and effectively end the game. The standard remained high in the conditions in the second half, but the game ultiumately peterred out with a confortable win to the Hills despite a number of missed opportunities in front of goal. Lloyd Toffolon was the best for the Redbacks using his run and dash around the ground. Tristan Kreymborg made first use of the ball in the ruck and did plenty of hard work around the ground as usual but it was the running on ballers that were then able to capitalise with Tim Duckworth continuing his good form along with Simon Amore, Anthony Bryce and Abe Williams in for his first game and showing he still has some passion for the game.
RESERVES
The Panton Hill Reserves are starting to ramp things up and put in another determined performance at Hurstbridge in wet conditions although at times the Parkisde opposition struggled to have a full team on the field. Nonetheless, the 15 goal victory for the Redbacks was a terrific effort. Brett Aldred thrived in the conditions and finished best on ground. Anthony Kidd keeps getting better and is becoming a key forward and finished with four goals. Other contributors came from the usual suspects including Adam Anderson, Simon Gunn, Frank Trianta and Ben Hibberd.
