An intriguing battle looms between Campbelltown and Pennant Hills at Monarch Oval. If you played this game a fortnight ago, you would put it in the book as a win for the Demons but such is the momentum Campbelltown has at the moment it could be a different story.
The Blues disposed of Sydney Hills with ease last week. Confidence is infectious and after their surprise win against North Shore they are eyeing another big scalp and 4 wins in a row. Matthew Edwins and Amua Parika are the keys and kicked nine goals between them next week. David Linsen and Paul Green are the main inside and outside players respectively. The ypung talent of Jordan and Taran Etto and Reserve Grade Players Joshua Harris and William Wylie have been able to adapt to the Premier Division step up really well. Pennant Hills were far from their best against Illawarra. They only led by a goal against the winless Lions at three quarter time before five goals to none in the final term got them home. The old firm of Kieran Wright and Alastair Richardson helped them through a sticky situation but they cannot afford another slip-up with their second spot on the line in a congested top five, while this is a do or die game for Campbelltown who will be looking for a spot in the finals and four wins in a row.
Reserve Grade took on Randwick City in Round 1 and went down by a fair margin and will be looking to improve on that effort as we head into the final few rounds. Games against West, Southern Power and Penrith are all winnable games and they will be looking to improve going into these games. They were beaten last week by Top of the table team Blacktown at home but put in a 4 quarter effort til the final siren sounded. William Wylie and Jerrod Quick-Nadin played great games last week and have earnt themselves a Premier Division call up, experienced players Ben Smith and Nathan Tyerman will have to pick up the load this week and spur the team on. Randwick City had a big win against Macquaire Uni and will be in strong form heading into the clash.
the Macarthur Giants will play the First Sydney AFL game at Skoda Stadium against the Western Suburbs on Saturday at 11:25am. After a hard fought loss last week against Southern Power where they didnt make the most of there chances (kicked 0.10) they will be looking to turn it around. GWS Acadeny plays Jordan Etto and Charlie Ford will be looking to impress on the big stage.
We wish all the teams good luck this week.
