Kyneton Player Represents Bendigo

Kyneton Junior Represents Bendigo

Kyneton Rangers Soccer club junior Luke Knight was part of this year’s U16 Bendigo representative team at the 2013 Country Championships, recently held at Traralgon.

The Bendigo side had a very successful campaign, not only winning the championship but doing so undefeated. It was a great achievement for all the players and was capped off by beating arch rivals Gippsland 1-0 in the final.

It was Knight’s first time competing at representative level, featuring in a strong defensive line up that conceded only two goals in five matches. This year has been a busy one for the fifteen year old, playing in Kyneton’s U16 team in the Bendigo league as well as the lower grades with the men’s teams in the Melbourne metropolitan league.

He was one of several Kyneton juniors to represent Bendigo in 2013 and has played all his junior soccer at Kyneton after moving from Sydney five years ago.
