SENIORS – Sponsored by Merkon Constructions
The first half was played at an unsustainable frenetic pace which saw players from both teams throwing themselves at the contests, none more so than our own ‘Man of Steel’ Adam McIntyre and Brother Trent who were brutal when called upon. In what turned out to be a dour defensive contest where mistakes were crucial, we simply made too many and East Brighton capitilised on the scoreboard. Going into the split round this was a good wakeup call on what is needed for the remainder of the season.
RESERVES – Sponsored by Total Waste Management
After an even first half where we trailed by 2 points the boys put the foot down in the second half piling on 12 goals to take the game away from the Vampires. Macca and Steeter were the main drivers with support from skipper Glenno who runs to space better than most and is always a headache for the opposition. Jack Kreymborg reminded us how dangerous he can be when he attacks the contest and snagged 3 goals in a great display
Under 19’s V Hampton
This was a game where the longer it went, the better we played. Despite wasted opportunities in the last quarter (3 goals 13 behinds) the boys can be proud of their effort. Mitch Hurley at CHB was superb with his body positioning and his run out of defence. The Birdman ran amok in the centre despite a close tag and Numbers played his best game for the year which allowed big Connor Wilson to dominate the goal square with 6 majors
NETBALL - St Paul's V StKilda City – Sponsored by Eva Rose Hair Salon (27-25)
St Paul's set the pace for today's match against St Kilda City. We got the runs on the board early and kept the opposition at arms length right up until the last siren to take the win by two goals.
We were hitting our targets with strong passes across the court. Shooters Meagan, Eliza and Melissa moved well under the ring and had great support from the mid-court as we found the net time and time again. Good game - let's keep it up St Paul's!
