Will Box is a Panton Hill local who played his junior football at Hurstbridge, because at the time there were no junior teams at Panton Hill. After Under 19's at The Bridges Will returned to his home town to join Panton Hill. Will thrived under the coaching of Garry Ramsay and played a key part in the Hills 2004 finals campaign with a tremendous game in the finals victory against Greensborough in one of the best teams of the decade for the Redbacks. That same year Will won the Division 2 league Best and Fairest polling 30 votes with his nearest rival 17 votes. Will is only the second Panton Hill player to win a league B & F.
Will has played a key part in the Panton Hill sides over the last 12 years, winning the Best and fairest for the club 2 times, coming runner up 4 times and third place 3 times. Will was centre half back in the 2000-2009 Panton Hill "team of the decade" and was named at centre half back in the NFL team of the year five times. The latest award Will received was probably one that he is most proud of, and that was life membership of the club which was awarded last year. Will is the current captain of the club and an inspiration to the younger players around him and the local juniors who aspire to be a senior player just like Will in the future.
Thanks for playing such a key role in the club Will and we look forward to your ongoing involvement for many years to come.
