CRUCIAL CONTEST: Newtown & Chilwell's Brooke Gillingham in action. The Eagles take on Leopold.
The new-look Eagles crushed Colac by 40 goals last weekend after a shock Round 1 win over South Barwon.
Woolley, who joined Newtown & Chilwell from Winchelsea during the off-season, said his side would improve with more court time together.
"Every week we are still improving. We are only two weeks in so we'll get a lot better," Woolley said ahead of Saturday's clash with Leopold.
"I am still learning about the teams in the league because I am only new to the league. I am just keeping a focus on our girls and what presents itself on the day we will deal with then.
"We know Leopold are going to be a very good side and the results indicate they are even better this year.
"South Barwon was a real test to see where we are at. Like any sport it is vital to get wins on the board early."
Newtown & Chilwell has revamped its A grade side with stars Julia Knott and Renee Pilkington following Woolley from Winchelsea.
Fellow former Blue Amy Wirth, who missed the opening two rounds, will also wear red and black in defence this season.
The Eagles were also able to capture GDFL stars Danielle Stewart and Casey Price from Werribee Centrals.
"The girls I haven't coached before are still getting used to what I want," Woolley said. "We are playing reasonably similar to how we played at Winchelsea. I want to keep the side as well rounded as possible."
Woolley said he was enjoying a change of scenery.
"I decided to take a year off at the end of last year," he said.
"But then a few of the girls had contacts at Newtown & Chilwell and one thing led to another. The girls were keen to play again so I spoke to the club and it went from there.
"Anytime you go to a new club its a new challenge and you have to start from scratch."
