Under 13's.
Pride, passion and commitment sums it up. Oh, and no sympathy from the Coach. It must have been one of the only games played on the Central Coast on Sunday which is further testament to the commitment of the U13's in Round 8 against Woy Woy. Arriving to a water logged oval with no sign of the rain clearing the U13 squad were on the oval and practising their kicks at goal before entering the sheds with a somewhat depleted side after a few of the crew had called in sick or perhaps mindful of the conditions that would confront them. As the coach I was proud of a new young team who experienced the conditions of winter football. Before the ball was bounced they were soaked, wet and cold and yet, minus a few grumblings, managed to take the field and battle it out against their opponents for three quarters before the game was suspended - not by our doing. This will remain as one of those games I am sure the boys will talk about in times to come. I am also sure that it taught them side life lessons about getting on with the job under some of the most atrocious conditions.
Regards
Steve
