All Girls Soccer Tournament

FC Williamstown hosted an All Girls Soccer Tournament on June 19th, 2013 In glorious sunshine, FC Williamstown hosted an Inter-school Girls Tournament involving Altona, Altona North, Newport Lakes and Williamstown Primary.

It was a great competition, with many of the girls playing their first competitive game, but that did not deter the excitement, cheering and good sport. The winners shield went to Williamstown, and Matilda's Captain, Melissa Barbieri, was on hand to present the shield and entertain us all with her stories of her experiences in sport and advice on healthy living and how to succeed.

The day was more about taking part and the girls in each team all seemed to thoroughly enjoy the day. We hope this experience will encourage them in the sport and all, of course, are invited to come along to our Free Girls Training Night on Wednesday 29 July.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
