Hi Pumas,
What an unbelievable weekend it was. Great to see the fans flock to Puma Park /Lowe Oval. There were regulars, old faces, new faces & several junior teams that came along. All wanted to see if the Pumas could finally beat Power House Wilston Grange, keep on top of the ladder & maintain the undefeated streak. Early in the day the U18's & then the Reserves had extremely hard fought inspiring wins. Could the Seniors make it a trifecta?
After being five goals down early in the game it did not look likely. However with the massive crowd cheering them on, the Pumas skill, belief, composure, courage & determination saw them claw back & eventually pull off a brilliant 139 - 111 victory. Graham is currently away but his full match report will be on our website asap. To watch the senior boys spray President Andrew & Vice President Denis during the victory song on You Tube click here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8S9aZxH19c
In fact Pumas had a win in every age group over the weekend.
We do it all again starting this Saturday 08-06-13 at HOME against Maroochydore:
U18s at 10am
Reserves 12pm
Seniors 2:15 pm
Sunday: U16s 9am
Every player walked/limped off the ground last Saturday either exhausted or sore. They will need the fan support again to lift, so bring some friends along to watch some high quality exciting football & hopefully cheer the boys on to another victory.
Pumas in the Community
Several Puma volunteers recently donated their time & talents to help our major sponsor "Bendigo Bank, Logan Community Branch" host the annual "Best Day Out". The day involved inviting students with disabilities from special schools around Brisbane to come have some fun. All participants competed in a Special Olympic sporting/team building style format. What a brilliant day was had by all. There were smiles on every participants face & all the volunteers agreed it was an uplifting & rewarding experience.
Kids in the Clubhouse
Just a quick reminder that all children playing inside & outside the club are their parents responsibility. We do supply a fantastic kids room but parental supervision is still required. Shoes must ALWAYS be worn in the cub house. Also if your child is playing outside keep an eye on them. Last weekend a very young group of children were spotted throwing rocks & actually smashed a rear window of the clubhouse.
Rep Players
Congrats to U16 players Matt Leadbeater and Jared Denny who just finished their Under 16 Bushranger rep program. Also a big well done to current U18 Puma but also U16 Bushie Vice Captain Callum Eddy. In the U14s Pumas rep players are Jai Kennealy, Joshua Hampson, Jamie Murfett, Cyle Tishler, Adrian Kocka. Well done guys. Also we must mention & congratulate a great effort by current Puma U14 Captain Riley Brandenburg who was unlucky to miss the trimmed squad.
Sponsorship
With massive crowds coming to see successful Puma teams & recent record Junior team numbers a great opportunity exists for businesses to jump on the Pumas train. There are still a few teams that need Polo shirt sponsorship & if you are not already aware it costs only $500 to place a a sign on the Lowe Oval Boundary fence. With all that local exposure & also the fact you are supporting a 100% Community club
please spread the word or become involved. For more information just reply to this email.
See you all this weekend - GO PUMAS!
