SENIORS
Panton Hill senior coach Dean Haydock was not impressed with the loss against Thomastown last week and was anxious for a much better performance today, especially given the round 1 loss to the clubs bogey side in Parkside. Soon into the game it was clear that the Hills had come out to play with a dominant first quarter featuring second and third efforts that were not there the previous week. The lead was extended each quarter in very wet but improving conditions. With a big margin at three quarter time Haydock asked his troops for a 100 point win to pay back the Red Devils. The team responded and finished with an enormous win which was probably the best overall team performance of the year to date. Nick Lowther was strong in the first half up forward with Ben Finnin the the main goal kicker finishing with 6 goals. Nathan Hendry was a clear best on ground which featured a sensational sanpshot goal from a pack in the forward pocket in the last quarter. Other good performers for the day included Jarrod McGough back in good form, Brendan O'Connor marking everything at half forward, Ben Strongman down back, Callum Sill up forward in his first game back from injury and Simon Amore as the reliable link man through the centre.
RESERVES
The Reserves were looking to get back on the winners list and started the stronger side. Whilst the Hills muscelled their way to the front, The Red Devils were never too far behind. At one stage it looked like The Hills would win the game without kicking a goal in the second half after a string of points, but a couple of late goals just befoire the end of the game provided an extra edge. A solid and deserved win. The main goal kicker was small forward Lucas Groves with 4 whilst others goal were spread around. Andrew Scadendorff was best on ground with fellow tall Gavin Arahams continuing to impress. Other key contributors included captain Brett Aldred, Matt Sherwood and a strong Jack Le Gassick.
