It’s a weekend of university campus life for the Bombers, with the seniors in action at Sydney Uni and two teams at Uni NSW; while it’s an evening game for the Under 18s at Mahoney Park.
This Saturday’s Matches
12:00pm – Division Four v UNSW-ES at Village Green
2:10pm – Division One v UNSW-ES at Village Green
2:10pm – Premier Division v Sydney Uni at Sydney Uni No 1 Oval
5:00pm - Under 18s v Sydney Uni at Mahoney Park
Sydney Uni No 1 Oval
Sydney University is on Broadway, a couple of kilometres west of Central Station.
To get there, go across the Harbour Bridge and onto the Western Distributor. Take the Pyrmont Bridge Road exit to Glebe, turn left. Go past Wentworth Park, the road swings to the left and then to the right. Turn left at Ross St. This continues straight ahead into the university campus at Broadway.
Paid parking is available within the uni campus. Check the signs carefully. Free parking is available on the street at Broadway, the bus lane doesn’t apply on weekends – if you don’t want to pay for parking, then turn right at Broadway and park on the street.
Entering the campus at the entrance opposite Ross St, the first oval you will see is the Number 2 oval. The main Number 1 oval is behind that, with the big grandstand.
To get there by public transport, catch the train to Central; and numerous buses will take you from Railway Square to the campus.
Village Green
Village Green is at the campus of the University of New South Wales, on Anzac Parade at Kensington.
Get onto the Warringah Expressway, take the Harbour Tunnel and Eastern Distributor and take the Randwick exit. Go straight ahead on Anzac Parade past the Alison Rd turnoff, through Kensington Shops, and the university campus will soon come up on the left.
Some parking is available on nearby streets, but watch the signs carefully. Some spots are unlimited on weekends, but some have 1 hour limits. For those prepared to pay, parking is also available in the campus.
Several bus routes from the city take you down Anzac Parade – frequent buses are available from Eddy Ave at Central Station or on Elizabeth St.
Mahoney Park
Mahoney Park is at the corner of Illawarra Rd and Wharf St at Marrickville.
To get there, go through the city, then head along Broadway, turning left at City Road. Go through King St Newtown, and near the station at the fork in the road, take the Enmore Road turn.
Turn right at Addison Road, then left at Illawarra Road. Go through the Marrickville shops and keep going. Just before the bridge over Cooks River, the oval will be visible on the right. Turn right at the last street before the bridge, Wharf St, and park.
To get there by public transport, get the train to Central, and catch the 423 bus from Railway Square (Stand C).

Match Preview
After tasting defeat for the first time last week, our Premier Division side will be keen to bounce back in style. Our opponents this week are Sydney Uni, a team that we have developed a rivalry with over the years.
We played them twice last year and won both games by well over 100 points, but this year’s Sydney Uni side has been a tougher opponent than last year; and they find themselves on four wins from their first six games.
There’ll be no shortage of motivation, but it’ll take another strong performance around the ground by our Bombers to return to the winning list this week.
