It is going to be another huge round of footy this weekend which will only be matched by the huge savings to be found at BETTA Home Living in Clayton who have a massive end of lease sale happening. Get down there (1666 Princes Hwy) for some huge savings and tell them you support the Mighty Bloods. We thank Stephen Tay and his crew for their ongoing support.
Of course you won’t be there on Saturday when you are watching some of the plethora of football being played in the magenta and black. And this week is very special as club legend David Mackenzie joins the “Life Members Club” as he will be playing his 200th game. D Mac has had a fine career at the club, one that he has captained and been part of a Premiership side. His enthusiasm is contagious ensuring he is one of the most popular personalities at the club. Well done D Mac. There will be a presentation in the social rooms after the game to help celebrate his fine career.
The Senior teams are playing Old Melburnians, while the U/19s will be hosting Old Paradians at McKinnon. The Thirds are also playing at McKinnon from 11.40am. The School host Scotch.
The Seniors take on OMs who have the same record this year – four from six. The clubs have played some great matches over the years and this won’t be any different. Last Saturday, the boys had a hard fought win over a determined Fitzroy but with a couple of players having their first game for a while, they are bound to be improved by the run. There was some excellent use of the footy and with more scoreboard pressure, the guys could have won by a lot more. The boys will be looking for some consistency in what has already been a rollercoaster year.
The Ladies will help kick off festivities as they will be entertained by Kelsey Gade in the traditional Ladies Lunch. There has been a good response and everyone is looking forward to having a few giggles in the new “digs”. Remember this is open to all, so gents don’t be shy. There will be plenty of entertainment and giveaways (incl $20+ of popular magazines), ensuring everyone is cherry ripe, watching the Ressies and preparing for the opening bounce of the seniors. Tickets are only $30, including a drink on arrival, with the fine fare supplied once again by the legendary Moo Meats.
And don’t forget the next luncheon which D Mac may attend which is the “Life Members” lunch on the 15th of June.
We look forward to seeing you all there on Saturday – whether it be Princes Park or McKinnon.
