Bluey Marsh was the Coach of the Club’s Thirds from 1958 to 1970. A period of thirteen years, which is the longest term anyone has coached at the Club. His enthusiasm and will to win was an inspiration to all who played under him and his belief that handball was the way to go, was years ahead of his time. He coached in two Premiership with the Thirds in 1962 and 1964 and was Runner Up in 1963. The first Senior Premiership the Club won was in 1969 and incredibly 10 of that side had come through Bluey and another, Graham Burgin, went on to play in two Premierships at Richmond. He loved Vermont with an incredible passion and everyone that played in the Thirds loved Bluey. His spirit lives on in anyone wearing that Purple & Gold Jumper today
