The Killarney Vale Bombers travelled north to Seaman Oval to take on Warners Bay. The Bombers got the better of the Bulldogs in round 1, and again took the bacon in their Round 7 clash.
In what was a game of two halves, the Bombers shone and showed they are a force to reconded with in the first while the second half belonged to a determined Warners Bay outfit looking to prove their top 4 credentials. The Bombers came out all guns blazing in the first, heading to the first break up by 14. They were able to extend their lead in the second through some classy movement and solid face plant by Brad Edwards to show they have certianly come along way since the start of the season. The margin at the main break blowing out to 10.2-62 to 5.3-33.
The game was turned to an arm wrestle in the third, and with the Bombers only able to add two points to their half time score, Warners Bay closed the margin to just 25 points.
The final quarter saw the Bombers play a man short after Daniel Lloyd left the field injured, and the extra man for the Bulldogs gave them the upper hand. The Bombers were able to withstand the change in momentum in fourth, hanging on for a slender 11.6-72 to 11.4-70.
The best for the Bombers were stand in skipper Maxy Mumford, Veterans Dane Amidy and Justin Daley. Other valuable contributors were Marc Adams, Ryan Coughlan and Shaun Sinclair.
Micheal Besley booted 3 game defining goals to lead the charge up front for the Bombers. The game also saw the return of Jordan Evans after a long injury lay off, and he made his presence felt with two valuable goals.
