SENIORS
It was warm and windy yet again at Yarrambat for Panton Hills final home match at the ground, this time against second placed Reservoir. The Hills kicked with the breeze in the first quarter but still had to work hard for their 3 goals whilst Reservoir kicked a handy two goals. The second quarter started goal for goal until Ben Finnin kicked three in a row for the Redbacks halfway through the quarter to provide the Hills a handy half time lead. The second half was all the Redbacks way despite Reservoir having a reputation as last quarter specialists. In fact, the Panton Hill backline kept the Mustangs goalless in the second half which helped The Hills to a comfortable 81 point victory. Panton Hill really got their running game going through Tyler Scarce and Simon Amore in the middle, Jarrod McGough once again on the wing and Anthony Bryce running off half back in one of his best games. Nick Lowther was terrific across half forward and Ben Finnin provided the finishing touches with 6 goals. Jeremey Gercovich also had another strong game down back leading the backline in their tight defence. The team now has a week off to rest before the next big challenge against Thomastown in two weeks.
RESERVES
The Reserves had a tough low storing contest with rivals Reservoir for three quarters before breaking open the contest in the final quarter and running away with a flattering 35 point victory. Andrew Jackson performed well in the ruck with support from Daniel Keen. Ben Hibberd had a great game which showed why he's played a number of senior games so far this year and big man Anthony Kidd also got plenty of the ball in his first match for The Hills. Other key contributors included Simon Gunn and newcomer Ned O'Loughlin.
