SENIORS – Sponsored by Merkon Constructions
Despite 5 lineup changes the boys didn’t miss a beat against an undermanned but determined East Malvern. A nine goal opening term really put paid to the contest which was sparked by Adam McIntyre. A-Mac was sensational in winning the contested ball right throughout the game. LJ was Luke warm but not quite on the boil and finished with 5 goals 5 for the day. The back 6 were virtually impenetrable and in the guts Willow and the Clock stood out all day
Reserves – Sponsored by Total Waste Management
Led by T Mac in a BOG display the two’s had big targets up forward in Ben McCarthy (2 goals) and James Marra (4 goals) leading the way. Young James Toranto is on the improve and the EEL backed up his good form. Scotty Bilger was movin and groovin with his new looks and slotted straight back into the side in the 79 point victory
Under 19’s – Vs Murrumbeena Sponsored by the Sandbelt Hotel
With both sides lacking numbers the game had plenty of spaces for one team to open it up. It took two and half quarters to happen but we eventually got our run on game going and got on top of Beena and finished full of steam with a 9 goal last term. Bragger was fantastic both in the air and on the ground and had great running support from Marty Clements. Impressively 11 of the 16 players scored a goal in the 45 point win
Netballers Vs Dingley - Sponsored by Cushion Lounge (13-42)
The team faced a tough opponent, under the ring, Dingley's defenders were ready for our every move. Although Meagan Taylor (GS/GA) still managed to find plenty of the ball despite two strong defenders in her path. Domonique O'Sullivan (GK) and Elly Thorne (GD) showed great resolve in defence throughout causing many turnovers. We showed potential across the court, but just couldn't keep up with Dingley's speed and strength.
