Premier Division head to the Windy Hill of Wollongong to take on Illawarra, in what should be a great game. Campbelltown head there after a convincing win against Sydney Hills at Bruce Purser last sunday, while Illawarra come off a heavy lost away to St George. Campbelltown's Captains Matthew Edwins and Cameron Desmond lead from the front and young players Paul Green and Jordan Etto, Round 4 Rising Star, were hard at the ball all day. Mitchell Hogan was best on ground, and seems to be growing better and better every week under new coach Neil Brunton. We would like to wish our new PNG recruits Jeconiah Peni and Alphonse Jamibarufo good luck as they make they debut this week. JJ (Peni) is an extremely fit 18 year old versatile midfielder. A left footer with an excellent kick on him. This lad will be a role model and an asset to our club for season 2013. Major (Jamibarufo) is a 19 year old strong bodied utility player. He is best playing behind the ball, on a wing or off a half back flank. He is a terrific young bloke and will be good value around the club.
Reserve Grade head to Greygums oval on sunday to take on 2012 Divsion 4 Premiers Penrith, Campbelltown are yet to win a game last year but put in a galiant effort last week against the undefeated Sydney Uni. They were in the game up until 3 quarter time but unfortunately run out of legs in the last. Matthew Moore worked hard all day down back earning himself best on ground, while Billy Wylie and Jarrod Mullaney were hard at the footy all day. With first grade players Nick Hudson and Peter Simpson inclusion into the side this week will give reserve grade a boost as will 2012's leading goal kicker Nathan Tyerman. "It was a great effort for all the boys last week and this is a very winnable game for us" coach Simon David said. "We need all 22 players to give 110% on sunday and we will see what happens".
The Macarthur Giants head to UNSW/ES in what wil be a tough game for the new kids on the block. The Giants have been working tirelessly as a group and are getting better every week, however they take on the undefeated UNSW/ES who have been in red hot form winning by an average margin of 20 points. Coach Craig Beveridge will be looking be stand out games from Luke Vella, Jordan Etto and Charlie Greenwood.
We hope to see a big contingent of Blues fan out at each game. Good Luck Boys!
