This weekend sees our club spread far and wide, with all four of our teams playing at different grounds.
This Week’s Matches
Sat 10:00am – Under 18s v St Ignatius Riverview at Riverview First Field
Sat 2:10pm – Division One v Holroyd-Parramatta at Gipps Road Oval
Sat 2:15pm – Premier Division v UNSW-ES at Village Green
Sun 11:30am – Division Four v Sydney Uni at Henson Park
Village Green
Village Green is at the campus of the University of New South Wales, on Anzac Parade at Kensington.
Get onto the Warringah Expressway, take the Harbour Tunnel and Eastern Distributor and take the Randwick exit. Go straight ahead on Anzac Parade past the Alison Rd turnoff, through Kensington Shops, and the university campus will soon come up on the left.
Some parking is available on nearby streets, but watch the signs carefully. Some spots are unlimited on weekends, but some have 1 hour limits. For those prepared to pay, parking is also available in the campus.
Several bus routes from the city take you down Anzac Parade – frequent buses are available from Eddy Ave at Central Station or on Elizabeth St.
Gipps Road Oval
Gipps Road Oval is on Gipps Road at Greystanes.
To get there, travel west and get onto the M4. Take the Cumberland Highway exit, head south then turn right into Old Prospect Road.
Keep going straight ahead to Pemulwuy Marketplace, then left into Greystanes Road. This becomes Gipps Road, and after crossing the T-Way bus road the sporting complex will become visible on the right. There is plenty of parking on site.
To get there by public transport, catch the train to Parramatta then the Sydney Buses T80 bus will take you there.
Henson Park
Henson Park is on Sydenham Road, Marrickville.
To get there, go through the city, then head along Broadway, turning left at City Road. Go through King St Newtown, and near the station at the fork in the road, take the Enmore Road turn. Continue straight ahead onto Victoria St.
Turn right at Sydenham Road, and the light towers will be visible on the right. Take the driveway into the ground, there is plenty of parking on site.
To get there by public transport, get the train to the city and catch the red M30 Metrobus from York St (if you’re coming from the north-east, that route starts at Spit Junction). The bus will take you to the corner of Victoria St and Sydenham Road, just a couple of blocks from the ground.
St Ignatius Riverview
St Ignatius Riverview is on Tambourine Bay Rd at Lane Cove.
From River Rd, turn south onto Tambourine Bay Rd and enter the school grounds at the end of the road; and you will spot their sporting fields. Riverview First Field is the one with AFL goalposts.

Match Preview
Premier Division is a clash between two undefeated teams. The Bulldogs got on last week when we were washed out, and had a win against UTS. They have also beaten St George and Campbelltown so far this season.
The Bulldogs won the title last year and are likely to be one of the top teams this year; so this is a game where our Bombers will need to be at their best. But we were the last team to beat the Bulldogs – in our only clash against them last year, the Bombers recorded an easy win.
