Seniors
Well round 1 kicked off against Parkside at our temporary home ground in Yarrambat. If you were a Panton hill supporter you could describe the game as frustrating at times, exhilarating and then ultimately disappointing. It was a great game of footy played by both sides and all credit to Parkside who never stopped coming and eventually went on to win the game. Costly turnovers at crucial times in the game and kicking more points than goals means bad football no matter which angle you look at it and something the boys need to address quickly. Best Players: Teddy “Dim Sim” Kreymborg, Pecker, TJ and Strongy.
Reserves
The Reserves side got off to the best possible start with a nine goal win. The Redbacks controlled the majority of the game and had many players winning a lot of the ball all over the ground. The backline was strong and looked stable with the ball being rebounded on many occasions and with some speed through the midfield this helped our forwards gain many opportunities to score Lachy Pearson with five goals was a standout up forwards, Simon Gunn creating run off half back while Kelley LeGassick, James Gilliland and Kane Gilmore running through the midfield it was evident that the reserves this year will be very competitive team.
