We tried to action a rotation plan for our mids / on ballers without much practice and I have to say it left our mid field unsettled. This highlighted some areas for modification but I think moving forward, once we have settled into a routine with a settled group, I am sure this will work for us positively. There were other areas of our game plan / structure and set ups for different situations which under pressure were found wanting a little but once again, a more settled group with a little extra work on the training track can be quickly sorted.
Our energy and aggression at the contest was definitely there for most of the day and our tackling pressure highlighted this. Unfortunately we had the fumbles when in possession which limited our free flowing game and ultimately clean delivery inside fifty. When we can accomplish this, with the fire power in there, I can’t see to many backlines stopping us?
The key to all of this is more bodies on the training track more often.
