We were deeply sorry to learn of the passing of one of our Club members. On Wednesday 27th March 2013 we tragically lost Melanie Lopez. Mel has been a prominent and beloved member of our Club for over six years, serving on our management committee in various positions including Assistant Secretary, Assistant Registrar and in 2012 was our Honorary Secretary. She was the manager of her daughter's team and was a stalwart member of our regular canteen volunteers. Mel was also a recipient of the John Best Award for Club Person of the Year in 2008, the highest honour in our Club.
The thoughts and prayers of our Club are with the Lopez family. Whilst we can't imagine the depth of their grief, we will certainly miss Mel's ready smile, infectious laugh and her ability to give to our members.
