Our head curator, Damian Walsh, reports that he assisted as a helmeted Terry Thornton removed the family of plovers that were nesting on the oval. With little care for their own personal safety they gathered the birds and eggs and carefully transported them to a local wildlife refuge.
The latest report received from Terry indicates that two of the eggs are starting to hatch. We will keep you post on any breaking news.
