Well we have celebrated the introduction of the eight hour day and our sights become firmly set on the upcoming football season. It’s time to start getting excited! Training has been at various venues but has generally been of a high standard with plenty of match day replication. There is a good influx of new faces which is encouraging. We expect to have clearances confirmed for up to six - ten new players this week. Numbers overall have been improving all the time which augers well for the Adam Floyd coached Thirds which is up and about this year. Looking through the list, there is an excellent blend of youth and experience, but importantly, there is a genuine resolve amongst the guys to perform well. We finished off last year in good form and will be aiming to continue that.
But of course the seeing is believing and you can get a taste of season 13 this Sunday at Keysborough, when we play our first practice match against Old Brighton. The first game will commence at 11.00am. This will obviously be the first serious hit out for the club and a good launching pad for the season. On the 24th we have another praccy game against Old Caulfield at Keysborough, and then we have our final hit out when we play St Bedes Mentone on the 6th of April. Note that training this week will be at Keysborough on the Wednesday and Linton Street on Thursday night, while next week it will be Tuesday at Keysborough and Thursday at Linton St. Hopefully after that, we shall be back at McKinnon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The club is being led by Liz Cuthbertson. She is looking to put a number of teams together – both ladies and mixed. The games will be played at Springers Leisure Centre with the season starting the first week in April (there will be no games played on Easter Sunday - 31st March - or Monday, therefore the season for these nights start the following week), and ends the last week in August (Sunday night games end on the 25th) Ladies Netball is played on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. There is currently a team on Monday nights, but Liz would be keen add more players to this team. But Liz would love to hear from people who may be interested in playing on other nights! They are hoping to start up another team this season, either ladies or mixed. Mixed netball is played on Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday nights. The cost is $9 per game while insurance is covered by Springers Leisure through rego fee (paid for by OHA). The uniform will also be supplied. Liz Cuthbertson can be contacted on 0448 981 436 emailed at elizabeth.cuthbertson@hotmail.com Or join this Facebook event if interested! https://www.facebook.com/events/429088397166137/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
