The boys have got back into training with plenty of well chiseled individuals taking to the track. And then there were the players - ha ha! Training has been at Keysborough on Tuesday nights and Trevor Barker Oval on Thursdays. There is a camp this weekend at Sorrento which will get them further toned.
There have been some very exciting developments for the OHAFC during the off season. Most recently the club (subject to some final paperwork) has secured the use of Princes Park on Bambra Rd for our U/19s and Thirds sides. They will play there on alternate weeks, which means, we essentially have two bases from which to work. Princes Park has a magnificent playing surface which I am sure the boys will enjoy playing on. The facilities generally, are brilliant, including state of the art social rooms. It is situated on Bambra Rd between North and Glenhuntly Rds – just a couple of torpedoes from McKinnon. This is a huge step in the right direction for the club and should set us up for years to come. The work done behind the scenes looks like paying off so thank you to all of those involved.
And yes we are full steam ahead for the thirds side in 2013 which will be coached by Adam Floyd. Adam played 122 games for the club in the 90’s and early 2000’s. This side will predominantly play against other Premier B grade clubs and will ensure more players are donning the Magenta and Black. The rest of the coaching staff essentially stays the same with Darren, Craig and Dale assuming their roles again in 2013. All sides just missed out on finals football last year and so will be looking to go one better.
The committee this year comprises the following individuals –
Brett Carson (Secretary), Tony Mitchem (Treasurer), Paul Langford-Jones, Luke Pitcher and David McKenzie (Events), David Southgate (Past Players), Greg Chisholm and Peter Hunter (Sponsor/Members) and Shane Walden (Communication).
The 2013 Sponsorship and Membership packages have been finalized and are attached. Social Memberships is set at $195 which is terrific value for money as it includes entry to all the home game lunches. There have been some minor increases to reflect the increased costs of running the club. But overall you will find something there to assist you in supporting the Mighty Bloods. Indeed we have introduced another level of membership for those that can’t get to many games. For $100 you will be contributing to the club’s drive to A Grade. It also gains you entry to the Past Players Season Launch and Jumper Presentation Night. This is being held on the 22nd of March.
The sponsorship packages have been finalized. The overriding theme is the club’s objective to be a catalyst enabling sponsors to reach the broader Haileybury network. We shall be working even harder to ensure this happens in 2013.
We have two additions to the Magenta and Black family with the recent arrivals of Blake Carson and William Mason and watch this space for some more announcements!
