Magpies pleased to announce Levih Warby as our new Strength and Conditioning Coach for 2013.
Levih joins the Magpies coaching team for the 2013 season and brings with him a wealth of experience that will benefit all players at the club.
Levih holds a Masters of Education (Secondary) and has been actively coaching in a professional capacity across a wide variety of sports since 2005. These sports include Wrestling, Boxing, Rugby League and AFL. He currently is employed with West Tigers as their SG Ball Strength and Condition Coach, a position he has held since 2010. Prior to this Levih spent two years employed as a Development Officer with the NSW/ACT AFL in Western Sydney.
Levih has implemented a high performance plan spanning 40 weeks which began 6 weeks prior to Christmas and will take the club to the end of the 2013 season. Each player at the club is required to complete medical screening and undergo a functional movement test to ensure they are able to receive tailored programs that will not only improve their fitness but address any areas of weakness they may have.
Those players that have been part of the preseason program since prior to Christmas have been surprised that whilst the work has been challenging almost all aspects of it involve footballs, games and teamwork.
Players who are injured are expected to be at training as there are a number of rehab groups to cater for those who cannot partake in the main program. To help facilitate the rehab groups the club has invested heavily in new fitness equipment. The new equipment will also ensure that Levih is able to conduct varied and interesting group sessions indoors in the event of inclement weather.
Levih will be at training every Tuesday and Thursday evening and will also be conducting sessions at 8am most Saturdays at Wanda sand dunes.
Levih is happy to provide individual feedback to players and parents on any aspect of the program or fitness advice in general and is best contacted by email to levih.warby@gmail.com
