Hi Gary, Barry and all associated with Port Melbourne,
As you can imagine we were delighted when Sam was rookied by Collingwood last week, it has been an exciting week, however with that comes a little sadness at saying goodbye to a wonderful club in Port Melboure.
Sam's time at Port Melbourne has bought us great enjoyment, travelling from Warrnambool each week was made easy by the enjoyment of the experience. We have made friends that we will have for life, supporters who came to know our faces and names and welcomed us to their club, we have known the joy of a premiership win and the disappointment of losing a premiership, some very exciting games and some not so exciting games all experiences we would not be without. Sam's team mates have been a delight, always friendly and polite, committed to each other as a team, a bond I am sure they will carry with them always. We would particularly like to thank Gary for the positive influence on Sam both in the game and as a young man, his unwavering faith in Sam's ability as a player along with the support of a terrific group of team mates and staff has without doubt played a huge part in where Sam is today.
I hope to attend a few Port Melbourne games through 2013, (there are a couple of little supporters who may still like to don their Port Melbourne Jumpers) I will look forward to seeing you all and perhaps spending some time in the new club rooms.
Thank you.
Kind regards
Vicki Dwyer, Dwyer and Mc Mahon families.
