The Newcastle City Cup has been run and won again for 2006 with the triumphant Hammer Time Syndicate making it two in a row to cap off a stellar evening for all those in attendance.
The night was well attended from Club members with the six preliminary races being hotly contested by the various syndicates which had formed during the night.
Come finals time the room was abuzz with the six finalist ready and rearing to go and see who would take out the Holy Grail that is the Newcastle City Cup.
After an unusually slow start the Hammer Time Syndicate with leading jockey Hammer in the saddle burst through the pack to make it two Cups in as many years in a superb finale to the evening.
Thanks must go to the bookies, race callers, cashiers and bar staff that made the night the success it was.
Look out for the Cup again next year with rumours of a three-peat on the Cards!
Lastly a piece of advice for all budding syndicate managers, remember that Buckets should have to pay double.
GO THE BLUES!
