Three Tigers have decided to turn in their jumpers to Doug Murray for the last time at the end od Season 2012. We spoke to the three to find out why they came to Noosa, what they loved about their time here, what they will miss the most and why they have decided to move away.
PETER TROMPF moved to Noosa, with his family, in 1992 when his father, Ashley, was appointed Senior Coach at Noosa. Pete began his football career, at the age of 6, in 1993 with the Tigers Under 9's with Alby Hancock. Injury and time away from the club has restricted his Senior game tally to 76, including the 2010 and 2011 Premierships.
When asked what he loved about Noosa he responed that he loves the football club and will miss his family the most. His best memory of the club, apart from winning back to back Premierships, will be of coaching the Under 12s this year.
His response when asked why he was leaving Noosa - "Going on an adventure because I love adventures"
Peter was a true inspiration to his teamates and always provided entertainment for the spectators on game day.
ADAM BOVALINO first played for Noosa Seniors in 2007 after moving from Bendigo. Bova was appointed captain in 2008, a position he has held to the end of Season 2012. His 102 games included the 2010 and 2011 Premierships.
He chose to come to Noosa after a phone call from Luke Mathews, Noosa captain in 2007, asking him if he was keen to have a kick in sunny Queensland. Then Brett Maloney (Noosa coach at the time) was on the phone telling him what a fantastic place Noosa is. Then, before Bova knew it Al and he were on the highway heading north.
When asked what he loves about Noosa he replied, "What I love most is the laid back lifestyle and the people. I'll really miss the beach and great weather."
His response to being asked about his best football memory while in Noosa, apart from winning back to back premierships: "Wow there are a lot of great memories that I've had in the past 6 seasons. Being named as captain of Noosa is one that stands out to me and one that I'm very proud of. Also to play my 100th game is another special memory that stands out. On the team side of things just to see the enjoyment of my team mates faces after a win and also to see the development of some our guys at Noosa.
Bova and the family are all heading to WA to a little town called Kambalda which is about 30km outside Kalgoorlie. According to Bova the reason for the move is that he's been given an opportunity to work I'n the mining industry and also to be playing assistant coach of the local Footy team, the Kambala Eagles. For Adam, It was very hard to say goodbye to the Noosa Footy Club where he has made many great friends. Bova wants us to pass on his thanks to everyone at the club who have given him so many great memories, and ones that he will never forget.
The club wishes Adam and family all the best in the future and we are certain that he will be as big an assest to his new club as he was at Noosa.
DANNY BREWSTER joined the Noosa Tigers from the Warragul Industrials in 2011. Danny played in the 2011 Premiership, played for the 2012 Country Stockmen representative team and was leading goal kicker for the Pineapple Hotel Cup competition in 2011 and 2012.
Danny explained that he and Jess came to Noosa because David Woods and Jess convinced him that it would be good to get away from Melbourne for a bit and start his life with Jess.
Echoing what he said at Presentation Night, Danny said that he will miss all the boys the most and that he has never met a better bunch of guys.
The best footy memory for Danny was his first game. "No-one knew what I was like and to play well and have everyone congratulate me was fantastic. To beat Palm Beach, I quickly found out, was a great feeling.", he told our reporter.
Danny explained that he was going to Melbourne to marry Jess and "get our lives together" started. He is not sure where he is playing yet but is definitely sad to leave.
The club wishes you all the best Danny and Jess and we'll miss you both.
