It will be an historic day when the Lady Swans run out on to the field this Saturday to take on the High Park Demons. As the first team to represent the Ottawa club in finals footy, the women will be fired up in, what is sure to be, a hotly contested match.
In their two meetings this season, the Swans and Demons have quickly developed an intense rivalry. The young and aggressive, yet skillful play of the Swans often confounds the experienced Demon players. Both teams play an all-out-attack brand of football that is sure to excite the crowd on Saturday afternoon.
With several weeks spent stewing since their last match, the Lady Swans are eager to get their heads over and hands on the footy. The last few weeks spent preparing alongside the men's squad has the team amped and ready to go. "The improvement on the women's team all year has been spectacular and their commitment is unmatched. Facing a team that is undefeated, we have nothing to lose this weekend, but we have proven that we a side that is capable of pulling just such an upset. I'm excited and I know the team can't wait to get on the field," commented Coach Chris Lockhart.
