It’s all or nothing this Sunday, as our Premier Division side has a sudden-death semi final against Balmain.
This Week’s Match
Sunday 9th September – Blacktown International Sportspark
First Semi Final – North Shore v Balmain (3:15pm)
Blacktown International Sportspark
All remaining finals are at Blacktown International Sportspark, on Eastern Road at Rooty Hill. It’s an AFL-standard venue, the training venue for GWS Giants; and hosted an AFL home & away game earlier this season between GWS Giants and West Coast.
If your car has a tag and you don’t mind paying tolls, the M2 & M7 will get you there very quickly. Take the M2, continue along the M7 until the Power St exit. Turn left and follow the street till the end, and turn right at Knox Rd. After the road crosses over the railway line, take the next street on the right (Eastern Rd); you will see the ground from there.
The M7 does not accept cash tolling, so if you don’t have a tag or don’t want to pay tolls, the M4 is now toll-free. Head west and join the M4, and take the Walgrove Road exit. Turn right and continue past Great Western Highway. A couple of kilometres up the road, turn right at Eastern Road, this is signposted by a blue Blacktown Olympic Park sign. The ground will soon become visible on your left.
If you’re going by public transport, catch the Western Line train to Rooty Hill. Take the southern exit, walk down Rooty Hill Road and turn left at Eastern Road.

Our Opponents
We’ll be taking on Balmain. The Dockers made the grand final last year, but we’ll be hoping to bring their season to an end this time.
The Bombers beat Balmain in both our previous meetings this year. In a thriller in the rain at Blacktown No 2, the Bombers peppered the goals in the last quarter to fall over the line by a point. When we played them again at Henson a few weeks ago, it was a dominant Bomber performance to record an easy 10-goal win.
The Stakes are High
There’s no second chances now. If we lose, our season is over. If we win, we’ll be in the Preliminary Final at Blacktown on Sunday 16th September, against the loser of the UNSW-ES v Pennant Hills game.
If it’s a draw, there’ll be two periods of extra time, 5 minutes plus time-on; if still level it’s golden point and the siren won’t sound until there’s been a score.
So we’re calling all Bombers – players in other divisions, past players, supporters. We need as many people in black and red as we can get, being vocal and passionate, cheering our Bomber boys on to victory.
This is our time.
Online Coverage

End of Season Awards Night
