PEGS Football Club had a dissapointing end to the season with the seniors missing finals action by percentage only despite an 80 point thumping of Monash Blues on the weekend. The Seniors had to win to make finals and with 4th placed Mazenod playing premiership favourite Parkdale who had lost only 3 games all year, this was a likely scenario.
Mazenod did the job against Parkdale in both seniors and reserve to ensure their season stays alive in 2012 which is much deserved.
For our boys it was a dissapointing finish to the year as there was a feeling that we could have done some damage in the finals but not all lost.
The club played 6 x Under 19 players in the seniors during the year with some inspired performances from our younger group of players including Cam Livori, Mark Wilson, Jordan Williams, Brett Hannah, Sandon McCann, Dushan Pereira, Matt Ferraro, Dougie Marr and many others.
In addition to these players was the encouraging performances of some of our other U19 players including Jack Williams, Liam Sutawan, Stuart Tibbits, Matt Semini, Conor Luxmore, Luke Schultz and others.
The club now swithces its focus to securing the coaching group for 2013 and active recruiting is already underway.
