Another great Sunday for football. The wind was kind of strong early but settled down in the first half of the U9's game. Plenty of sunshine to go 'round anyway.
Auskick went well, with the players enjoying the skills sessions (ie there was a tackling bag) and the game was hard fought, but dominated by the older Crows players. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
In the Under 9's the Eagles started slow, but woke up by the second half. Age, experience, and discipline amongst the players from other teams have been the difference all year, and this was no exception.
The Eagles tried hard, and with a couple of good players down it was promising to see the others still make an effort.
Kurt Dawes was the Eagles best player, as he keeps trying throughout the whole game. Ben Cowling and Xavier Pearce also had good games.
It was a shame that the zoning seemed to have been dropped from the game this week, as we had been trying to get the Eagles players to understand and keep to the zones in recent weeks.
In the end the players adjusted better to the new 'go wherever you want' rule better than the coachin staff. Good work guys, shows agility.
